NHA Contributions: NHA Advisors was tasked with managing the financing program, maintaining tax rate projections, interacting with Los Angeles County Treasurer’s office, and recommending financing alternatives or refinancing opportunities when presented.

Project Completion: May 2020

NHA Contact: Craig Hill and Rob Schmidt

Unique Characteristics of Project: NHA Advisors worked closely with district staff to coordinate the issuance of bonds based on a well-managed construction schedule providing the necessary funds at the lowest possible interest rates and minimizing the impact on the property owners’ tax payments.

Executive Summary: NHA Advisors worked with the school district to develop two general obligation bond authorizations totaling over $100 million that met the facility needs of the district’s modernization requirements. While the original financing plans for both authorizations assumed six- and eight-year build-out programs, construction market conditions and bond market improvements allowed the district to accelerate its projects to minimize the construction cost escalation pressure. NHA served as Municipal Advisor on seven GO bond financings (most recently in 2020) as part of these two authorizations, most recently in 2020.
